Who Should I Start? (Published Wed Oct 19 9:38:10 a.m. ET 2011)

One of the most important questions that all of us fantasy football players need to answer each week of the season is "Who Should I Start?" If Cam Newton and Michael Vick were both on your roster in week 6, you had an important decision to make - did you expect Newton to continue his early-season magic, and have a great day against the Falcons weak pass defense? Or maybe you expected Vick to turn it around, and come out strong against the tough Redskins D?

There are a lot of ways you can make that decision: player news, projected scores from our partners at FantasySharks.com, and your own expertise.

And now, we're happy to offer you some additional help from thousands of other fantasy football players. That new way is found on your Reports > Franchise > Who Should I Start? report. This "wisdom of the crowds" report details the lineup decisions that all MyFantasyLeague.com customers make. Visit that report to see the information first-hand, but depending on your roster, you'll most likely find that hundreds (if not thousands) of our MyFantasyLeague.com customers have to make that same lineup decision as you.

Going back to the Newton vs. Vick example, here is what the "Who Should I Start?" report tells us for those two players in week 6:
Should Start: Newton, Cam CAR QB
Should Bench: Vick, Michael PHI QB
Pct: 77.9%
Count: 1612

In English, that means that 1,612 MyFantasyLeague.com customers had to make a decision between Vick and Newton in week 6, and 77.9% of those folks decided to start Newton and bench Vick.

We're hopeful that this new report will give you more information to help you make those all-important lineup decisions each week of the NFL season. As always, any feedback, comments or questions regarding this new report are welcomed!

One final note - coming up in week 8, we'll be offering free mid-season leagues again this year. So, if you're finding your record is close to the Colts' record, and want to make your second half better than the first half of the season, be sure to check out next week's MFL Tip for news on how to take advantage of this free offer.

Sincerely,
The MyFantasyLeague.com Team

Trash-Talking On MyFantasyLeague.com (Published Wed Oct 5 8:37:43 a.m. ET 2011)

One of the things that we all love about fantasy football is trash-talking. Whether it's in anticipation of your upcoming matchup against your long-time league-mate, or after squeaking out a close win in the 4th quarter on the Monday night game, fantasy football wouldn't be the same without a way of reminding folks how good (or lucky!) you are, or perhaps how bad they are. Here at MyFantasyLeague.com, we offer a bunch of ways to help you with league communications and trash-talking, including:

  1. League Message Board - probably the most popular way to communicate on MFL with your league, the message board allows you to create new threads on a variety of topics, read and reply to those topics, and send private messages to league-mates. You can include a summary of the 10 most recent message board posts on your league home page, too.
  2. League Polls - Not only are polls a great way to decide on things like league rule changes, you can use polls for trash-talking, too - a poll called "Who is least likely to make the playoffs this year?" is sure to stir up some league controversy. We also have several home page modules related to league polls.
  3. League Articles - league articles are newspaper-like writeups that you (or your commissioner) can author about your league, complete with an article headline and article picture. You can include a summary of the 10 most recent articles, or the full text of the most recent article on your league home page if desired.
  4. League Chat - League chat messages are great for shorter, more spontaneous messages or comments that can either be sent to everyone in your league, or privately, to only one fellow owner. You can include a league chat box on your league home page as needed.
  5. League Videoconference - A new feature we're offering for 2011 is league videoconferencing, allowing you to do face-to-face trash-talking wherever you are.

Be sure to check out all of the league-wide communication features we offer on the site. They can be found on the "Communications" pull down menu in your league, or they can be placed directly on your league home page via the various home page modules that are available for all of these functions on the For Commissioners > Setup > Appearance > Homage Modules and Tabs Setup screen.

Sincerely,
The MyFantasyLeague.com Team

Now that your fantasy season is underway, it's a good time to introduce two of these features that you might not be aware of: Fantasy Recaps and Fantasy Previews.

Fantasy Recaps are automated post-game writeups of each matchup in your fantasy league from last week, complete with top performing players, player photos, and a chart showing how scoring progressed throughout the week's games. Best of all, if you view your own writeup on that page, you'll notice that the canned quote attributed to you is a clickable link - click on that link, and you can edit that quote to say anything you'd like. Also, the commissioner can edit any recap to make it say anything he'd like to. There are several places you can see Fantasy Recaps on your league pages:

  • Via the Reports > Franchise > Fantasy Recaps menu item available from the top of all league pages.
  • On your Home Page Modules And Tabs Setup page, you can add the "Fantasy Recap - Game Of The Week" module to your league home page.

In addition to Fantasy Recaps, we offer Fantasy Previews, which are like pre-game writeups of what's expected of the matchup and the teams involved, including projected point totals from our partners at FantasySharks.com, as well as the ability to customize owner quotes, like you can with fantasy recaps. Previews can also be added to your league home page via the Home Page Modules And Tabs Setup page.

One additional note - on the Home Page Modules And Tabs Setup page, there is a module called "Today's League News". If you add that module to your league home page, it will automatically rotate content depending on the day of the week:

  • On Sundays, the "Live Scoring Summary" home page module is displayed, so everyone knows their scores while the games are underway.
  • On Mondays, the "Monday Report" home page module is displayed, allowing folks to see what players are playing in the Monday night game, and their projected point totals.
  • On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, the "Fantasy Recap" home page module is displayed.
  • On Fridays and Saturdays, the "Fantasy Preview" home page module is displayed.

We'd love for you to experiment with our "Fantasy Recaps" and "Fantasy Previews", and see what you think. We're optimistic that this will be a fun way for you and your league-mates to get more involved in your league with a feature that you won't find on any other league management site!

Sincerely,
The MyFantasyLeague.com Team

Are you _really_ ready for some fantasy football? (Published Tue Aug 30 4:14:46 p.m. ET 2011)

(OK, so we're abusing the most most over-used cliche this time of the year, but we wanted to get your attention. Hopefully we have it now!)

In the next few weeks, we'll be asked a lot of questions from our customers regarding their league setup. With a little extra effort now, you can be a step ahead of the game, and make sure your league is truly ready for the start of the fantasy football season, and don't face any of these early season setup issues.

The most common questions we get for the first week or two of the season include:

  1. Why aren't my league scores correct? To avoid this problem, please take a few minutes to review your Top Performers/Player Stats report, which shows all 2010 and 2009 player scores using your 2011 league scoring system. The more time you spend reviewing those scores for accuracy now, the fewer scoring problems you'll have in week 1. (Note: if your league carried over from last year with the same scoring rules, then you're all set now).
  2. Why aren't my waivers working correctly? Waiver setup can be one of the most complex parts of MyFantasyLeague.com. If you're still struggling with waiver setup, we'd definitely encourage you to take a close look at the several pre-packaged waiver options we offer on our Select Packaged Waiver Rules page. One of our pre-packaged options is sure to come close to meeting your exact waiver needs, and it is far easier to just select a pre-packaged option than to custom create your own setup.
  3. Why can't I view live scoring for my league? Only purchased (and free trial leagues) will receive live scores for week 1 and beyond. If you have not yet purchased your league, please be sure to do so. The easiest way for you to see if your league has been purchased is to look at the "For Commissioners" menu item. If you see a "League Invoice" option, that means your league is paid for, but if you see a "Purchase League" option, that means it's not!
  4. How do I get faster and more comprehensive live scoring? While our web based live scoring is completely functional and accurate, for those of you who have Microsoft Windows PCs, we have an optional downloadable program called "GameDay" that offers faster and more comprehensive live scoring - see this page for more details on exactly what GameDay offers. Keep in mind that if you ran GameDay in 2010, you'll need to download the 2011 version - see this page for full details.

The more time you spend reviewing the above items, the more likely you'll have a great week 1 (and beyond) of the season here on MyFantasyLeague.com!

As always, if you have any follow-up questions, suggestions or ideas for us, please be sure to check out our Help Center.

Sincerely,
The MyFantasyLeague.com Team

Player Database Updates from Rotoworld.com (Published Wed Aug 24 4:43:22 p.m. ET 2011)

As part of our on-going partnership with Rotoworld.com, we will be updating our player database and changing the position of several players to match the position on the Rotoworld.com Depth Charts. The complete list of player position changes is shown on this page. These changes will take effect on Friday morning, August 26th. Most of the changes involve individual defensive players, so they will have minimal impact, if any, on standard (non-IDP) leagues.

For all leagues, especially IDP leagues, we strongly suggest you review the entire list of player position changes to understand how it might impact your league rules. If you have roster position limits, and you already have players on rosters in your league for this season, then some of the rosters may become invalid after these changes.

We understand that not all leagues will agree with these position changes, and some leagues will not want them to take effect. If your league wants to over-ride some or all of these changes, then the commissioner can use the For Commissioners > Setup > Players and Rosters > Change Player Position screen to change any player's position to any other position as needed. There will be one more update after the NFL 53-man roster cuts to address any changes between now and the start of the season.

As always, if you have any comments, questions or suggestions about this change, please feel free to send us a Support Ticket.

Sincerely,
The MyFantasyLeague.com Support Staff

How To Have A Modern Draft (Published Tue Aug 23 12:35:27 p.m. ET 2011)

The scene is almost perfect - the ice-cold beverages are ready. The pizza's been ordered. The chips are open. It's almost time...

The owner with pick 1.01 calls out Arian Foster, and you're putting an old-fashioned sticker on an old-fashioned draft board? Or worse, just writing a name down somewhere? Why are you still running your draft like it's 1998?

If all of your owners will be together at one physical location, and you're looking for a much easier and more modern way to run your draft, read on...

  1. One of your league-mates is sure to own an HDTV. Look at the back of it - one of the many cool things about an HDTV is the little connector on the back called "PC" - that allows you to connect a laptop to your HDTV, and use your HDTV as a huge computer monitor. Check your HTDV's web site or owners manual if you need help on how to connect it to a laptop.
  2. Connect a computer to that HDTV via the video output jack on the back of your computer. Any computer will do - laptop or desktop machine.
  3. Find a fantasy football draft software program to run your draft for you. We offer FFLM for free (see http://www.myfantasyleague.com/blog/?p=578) and we've also partnered with FanDraft (see http://www.myfantasyleague.com/blog/?p=580), so you have your pick of draft software.
  4. Draft away!
Some of the great things about doing a draft like this are:
  1. Everyone can immediately see which players are available, which players have been taken, who has what roster needs, and more - no need to for everyone to manually track this on their own, and ask dozens of questions about whether or not a mid-level player is still available.
  2. Draft programs have a ton of cool features - audio integration (you can hear player names announced when they're drafted!), integrated timer to let people know how much time they have left on the clock, franchise logo integration, and more.
  3. When your draft is over, there's no need to manually enter your draft results into MyFantasyLeague.com - both of the above programs offer ways to immediately upload your draft results to your league home page in a matter of seconds.
  4. Immediately after you upload your draft results, you can read a system-generated recap of your draft, complete with a draft grade. To see your "Draft Recap" report after you've uploaded your league draft results, just go to your "Reports > League > Draft" report, and then click on the "Draft Recap" link at the top of that page. Our draft recap is another MyFantasyLeague.com-only feature that we think you'll love!

As always, if you have any questions, comments or suggestions based on this newsletter, feel free to contact us via your Help > Help Center page.

Now that the fantasy football draft season is rapidly approaching, we've got several tips to help you get ready for your league's draft or auction, including:

  1. Study the MyFantasyLeague.com Average Draft Position (ADP) rankings before your draft. The ADP Rankings are updated daily and are a great guide to see how soon players should be drafted in your league.
  2. If you participate in an auction league, we offer Average Auction Values (AAV) rankings based on a typical $200 league auction. These values will give you an idea how much you should spend for a player at auction.
  3. If you're looking for an in-depth draft guide to help you gain an edge at your fantasy draft this season, then check out the 2011 Rotoworld.com Draft Guide. It includes profiles of every significant player (over 500) and customizable cheat sheets, plus extras like fantasy tiering and dynasty coverage. August Newsletter - More Site Enhancements, Earn Discounts on Your 2012 League With Our Referral Program (Published Wed Aug 3 12:54:37 p.m. ET 2011)

Here at MyFantasyLeague.com, we're still busy working on the site for 2011 to ensure that your league experience is better than ever before. Some of the many enhancements that we've already completed for 2011 include:

  1. 8 New Holiday-Themed Skins - Your Select A Skin page has been updated to include 8 new holiday-themed skins.
  2. Owners Can Now Be In Control Of Their Own Player's Positions - If your league allows owners to be started at positions other than the default MyFantasyLeague.com position, the Change Player Position page has a new field on it called Allow owners to change the position of these players back and forth between the MyFantasyLeague.com default position and your custom position via the "For Owners > Change My Player Position" page. If the commissioner turns that option on, each owner will be able to use the new For Owners > Change My Player Position option to change the position of any player on his roster back and forth between the MFL-default position and the commissioner-specified position, any time he sees fit.
  3. Twitter Feed - The For Owners > Franchise Setup > Contact Info page has been updated so each owner can enter their own Twitter username. If an owner does do this, his Franchise Information report will be updated with a link to his Twitter account. In addition, the Home Page Modules And Tabs Setup page has a new home page module on it called Twitter Feed which will display the feed of everyone in your league, and also the MyFantasyLeague.com Twitter Feed
  4. Get Notified Only When It's Your Turn To Draft - If you're in an email draft, but don't want to be overwhelmed with too many emails or text messages, there is a new option on both the For Owners > Franchise Setup > Contact Info page and the For Owners > Franchise Setup > Wireless pages called "When I'm On The Clock For My Draft" which will allow you to only receive emails or text messages when it's your turn to draft, as opposed to when each pick is made.
  5. Youtube Video - To make it easier for commissioners to post Youtube videos to your league home page, there is a new For Commissioners > Setup > Appearance Setup > Youtube Video page that allows you to set up a Youtube video on your league home page. Once you've set it up, be sure to include the actual home page module called Youtube Video, available from your Home Page Modules And Tabs Setup page, onto your league home page.
  6. Player Salaries Based On 2011's Fantasy Points - If your league is a salary cap league, and you'd like to have player salaries calculated based on 2011's final, end-of-season player scores, the Select Packaged Player Salaries page has a new option to allow you to do that.
  7. Randomize Divisional Alignment - If you'd like the system to randomly assign divisions for each franchise in your league, the Division/Conference Setup page has a new option to allow you to do this.
  8. Many More New Home Page Modules - In addition to the Youtube Video and Twitter Feed home page modules mentioned above, the Home Page Modules And Tabs Setup page has several new available home page modules, including:
    1. League Events To Schedule - to make it easier for owners to be aware of the league events you might be trying to schedule.
    2. MFL Tips - so everyone in your league can keep up-to-date on some of the MFL Tips we're issuing to help you make the most of our your MyFantasyLeague.com league.
    3. Newest Commissioner's Article and Newest Owner's Article - for leagues that like to write a lot of league articles, and want to have more than one article on their league home page at a time.
  9. Custom Players Can Now Be Designated As Rookies - The Enter Custom Players page now allows a commissioner to indicate if the custom player he's entering is a rookie or not.
  10. Manually Lock Players - If your league locks players, the "Reports > Player > Locked Players" report will now allow the commissioner to manually lock a player if necessary.
  11. Customize Scrolling Text Speed - The Scrolling Text Setup page now allows the commissioner to specify the speed (Slow, Medium or Fast) for the scrolling text.

Some people call them draftmaster leagues. Others call them draft and hold leagues. You might even call them best ball leagues. Whatever you call them, we know you'll enjoy them for free here on MyFantasyLeague.com.

In a nutshell, "draft-only" leagues are like a regular MyFantasyLeague.com league except:

  • You don't submit starting lineups - instead, the system automatically chooses your best starters for you each week of the season.
  • You don't trade or do waiver moves - instead, the team you draft is the team you have all season long.
  • You don't have head-to-head matchups or playoffs - instead, it's a total points only league.

If you'd like to create and run your own free draft-only league, see this page for additional information.

But, if you just want to participate in one that someone else runs, and want to have a chance to win cool MFL prizes, be sure to "like" us on Facebook, where we're announcing the drafts for these leagues on a regular basis this summer. For more details on how these leagues run, please read this blog post.

Enter LeagueSafe.com.

LeagueSafe.com is a service that handles all of your league finances for you - from nagging owners who haven't paid to the end of the season payout. Check out their web site for more details, but best of all, your MyFantasyLeague.com league is integrated with LeagueSafe.com, so all you have to do is go to your For Commissioners > Setup > General Setup > Manage League Finances With LeagueSafe.com option, and in no time you'll have your league up and running on LeagueSafe.com.

Accessing Your League From Your Phone (Published Thu Jul 7 12:34:39 p.m. ET 2011)

Many of our customers enjoy access to their MyFantasyLeague.com league pages from their iPhone, Android, or other wireless device. If you're new to MyFantasyLeague.com, or not familiar with our wireless offerings, please read on so you can get access to your league pages wherever you happen to be.

You have many options for getting access to your league functionality from your wireless device, including:

  1. If you have an iPhone, iPod, or iPad, there are several third-party MFL applications that run on those devices.
  2. If you have an Android-based phone or tablet, there are several third-party MFL applications that run on those devices, too.
  3. For folks that have a Blackberry, there is one third-party MFL application for that platform.
  4. If you'd rather not download a separate application to your phone, but you do have a web browser on your phone, be sure to check out the Reports > Wireless > Home web page from your cell phone's web browser - that will give you access to some league functionality through pages that are optimized for the smaller screen and lower bandwidth of your phone.
  5. Finally, if you have a smartphone that has a full-featured web browser (like an iPhone, Android phone, Windows 7 Mobile phone, etc.), you can always visit your full-featured league home page for access to all league functionality, just like you do from your computer.

Keep in mind that the apps mentioned above are all developed by third parties, due to our extensive developer's program. That means two important things. First, you're paying them, and not MyFantasyLeague.com, so if you have questions about the applications, be sure to contact these third parties directly. Second, if you are a developer who would like to create applications for MFL leagues, we'd love for you to check out our developer's program to see how simple it is write programs for the MFL platform.

As always, please let us know if you have any comments, questions or suggestions regarding our wireless offerings, or our product in general.

Schedule A League Event (Published Tue Jun 28 3:25:24 p.m. ET 2011)

One of the many new features we've added to your MyFantasyLeague.com league for the 2011 season is available via the Communications > Schedule A League Event page. This new feature will hopefully make scheduling an event for your fantasy football league (like your draft, or an off-season league rules meeting, or a get-together for Monday night football, or more...) much easier than it has been in the past. It works like this:

  1. Your commissioner can go to the Communications > Schedule A League Event page, and click on the Edit link, and create a new event. Creating a new event involves entering an event title (like "League Draft"), an event location (like "Bob's Basement"), and possible days that the event might occur. If you'd like to be sure that you get an email when your commissioner tries to schedule a new league event, be sure to go to the For Owners > Franchise Setup > Contact Info page and check the checkbox titled "New Poll Created (including trade polls and scheduling league events)"
  2. Next, each owner can go to the Communications > Schedule A League Event page and enter their availability for that event by indicating if they are available to attend that event on each of the days indicated.
  3. After everyone's indicated their availability, you'll then be able to see what the best day is for the most folks in your league to hold that event.

In summary, we're hoping that this new feature makes your fantasy football league experience here on MyFantasyLeague.com that much better. As always, please let us know if you have any comments, questions or suggestions regarding this new feature.

  2. More Rookie Filters - several pages, including our Average Draft Position report, our Average Auction Values report, as well as the "For Commissioners > Setup > Salary Cap Setup > Enter Player Salaries/Contracts" page have been updated to include a "Rookie" filter, which will hopefully help keeper and dynasty leagues that have special rules for NFL rookies.
  3. Import Franchise Score Adjustments - while we can import information from several other league management sites, there are other sites that we cannot yet import from. May Newsletter - More New Features, and Earn Discounts on Your 2012 Leagues! (Published Wed May 11 1:58:35 p.m. ET 2011)

Here at MyFantasyLeague.com, we're still busy working on the site for 2011 to ensure that your league experience here is better than ever before. Some of the many enhancements that we've already completed for 2011 include:

  1. Schedule A League Event - with everyone's busy schedules, at times getting league-mates together for important events like your league draft, or an off-season rules meeting can be tough. To help out with that, we've added a new option available from the Communications > Schedule A League Event menu item. A commissioner can use this page to create a new event, and enter possible dates and times for that event, then owners can use that page to enter their availability for each date/time, allowing everyone to see the date/time that the most folks are available to get together.
  2. Upload PDFs, Excel files and Word documents - the Links > My Links > Edit My Links and Links > League Links > Edit League Links pages have been updated to allow people to upload files (PDFs, Excel Spreadsheets, and Word Documents) to your league web site. This should be especially useful for leagues with auxiliary rules files, or files from prior seasons that were not hosted on MyFantasyLeague.com.
  3. Improved Support For Leagues With Multiple Drafts - if your league has multiple on-line drafts, we're happy to announce a new feature that might make it easier to manage your drafts on the site. Once your first draft is over, you can use the For Commissioners > Setup > Draft Setup > Archive Draft option to "Archive" your first draft, and then set up a brand new draft on the site.
  4. Trade Blind Bidding Dollars - if your league uses blind bidding, the Trades Setup page has a new field on it called "Allow owners to trade blind bidding dollars?". If you change this from it's default of "No" to "Yes", owners will be able to include blind bidding dollars as part of their trade offers.
  5. Larger File Uploads - files that you upload to the MyFantasyLeague.com site (like logos, icons, sound clips, PDF files, and more) can now be up to 150kb in size. The previous limit for these uploads was 100kb.
  6. Drag-and-Drop Home Page Module Re-Arrangement - if you'd like to re-arrange how modules are displayed on your league home page, you can now drag and drop the caption of the module from it's old location to a new location on your league home page. Note that if you'd like to add or remove modules from your league home page, you'll need to use the Home Page Modules And Tabs Setup page.
  7. More Playoff Brackets - you can now set up 15 playoff brackets for your MyFantasyLeague.com league. The previous limit was 10 brackets per league.
  8. Wireless Rosters Report - the Reports > Wireless > Home page has been updated to include a new option called Rosters which allows you to see the rosters of everyone in your league in a wireless device friendly format.

Don't forget to take full advantage of our Customer Referral Program, which allows you to earn big discounts on your 2012 league purchase with us!

And if you had a league with another league management provider in 2010 (CBS, Yahoo, Fanball, ESPN, etc.) we offer significant discounts for moving that league to us in 2011, as well as the ability to automatically import your league history from many of those sites - see this page for more details.

April Newsletter - New Features, Infrastructure Upgrades and Earn Discounts On Your 2012 League! (Published Wed Apr 6 11:13:22 a.m. ET 2011)

Here at MyFantasyLeague.com, we're already busy working on the site for 2011 to ensure that your league experience here is better than ever before. Some of the many enhancements that we've already completed for 2011 include:

  1. Live Auctions - This new functionality will allow you and your league-mates to have an on-line, all-at-once live auction, regardless if all of your owners are together in the same room for your auction, or if your league is spread out. You can choose the "On-line, live auction" option on your General League Setup page to see this new functionality. Once you've set up a league for a live auction, be sure to review the "Setup > Auction Setup > General Auction Setup" page for some new live auction related settings.
  2. League Videoconference - Another exciting new feature we're offering for the first time in 2011 is the ability to have a league-wide video (or audio) conference on your league pages. To see this option live, just check out the new Communications > League Videoconference option available from all of your league pages. Be sure to read the "Videoconference Tips" listed on that page to make sure you have the best videoconference experience possible.
  3. NFL Box Scores Report - This report allows you to see the current score and stats for all NFL games each week of the season. The best place to see exactly what this report looks like is from the "Reports > NFL > NFL Box Scores" menu item from your 2010 league, or this box score from the last NFL game.
  4. Limit Number Of Players Up For Auction - If your league does an on-line auction (either live or email) you can now limit the number of players up for auction at any one time via a new setting on the "Setup > Auction Setup > General Auction Setup" page.
  5. Upgraded Scrolling Text Technology - We've overhauled the technology behind the Scrolling Text option on our site. It used to be based on Java, but now it's using a more modern HTML5 Canvas technology. What this means for most customers is a more integrated appearance with your league pages, and faster start-up time. But for our more advanced customers, you'll have a ton of additional control over the appearance of scrolling text using CSS.
  6. Additional Incorrect Picks For Survivor Pool - In addition to the traditional once-and-done setup for Survivor Pools, you'll now be able to indicate the number of incorrect picks an owner can make before being eliminated on the Pool Setup page.
  7. Display League Reminders At the Top Of League Home Page - The For Owners > Franchise Setup > Customize page has been updated to have a new option called "Display "League Reminders" on the top of league home page? Yes/No". This option will display reminders about upcoming important league events, like outstanding trade offers, reminders to submit your weekly lineup, and more. We hope that this will be useful to leagues that don't allow owners to customize their league home page, but still give an owner some level of control regarding important things they want to be reminded of on a weekly basis.
  8. Assign Default Salary To Players As They Are Acquired - For salary cap leagues, there is a new option on the General Salary Cap Setup page called "When a player is acquired that does not have a salary/contract, assign the default salary/contract to him? Yes/No". This option, when changed from it's default of "No" to "Yes", will actually update a player's salary and contract information with the league-specified default salary/contract when the player is acquired.
  9. Make Your Cell Phone Number Private - If you'd like to receive text messages from the site, but don't necessarily want to share your cell phone number with your league-mates, there is a new option on the For Owners > Franchise Setup > Wireless page called "Allow my leaguemates to see my cell phone number? Yes/No". It will default to "Yes", but if you change it to "No", you'll be able to get text messages from the site, but not have to worry about your league-mates getting access to your cell phone number.
  10. Enter League History And Awards As Far Back As 1985 - If you've been playing fantasy football for a long time, we know it's important that you have a complete and accurate history of your league as far back as possible. To that end, you can now Create League Awards as well as full league histories as far back as the 1985 NFL season.
  11. Developer's Program Enhancements - we continue to make enhancements to our developer's program - if you're a third-party developer who is interested in getting access to MyFantasyLeague.com data in industry-standard XML format, be sure to see check out this always-evolving program for new additions. And for all other customers, be sure to check out this page for a fairly comprehensive list of third parties that are using our developer's program for creating useful add-ons to the core MyFantasyLeague.com site.
  12. Infrastructure Upgrades - we've got several significant infrastructure upgrades scheduled this off-season. So far, these upgrades have been mainly behind-the-scenes, but shortly, it will mean some system-wide downtime for your league. These upgrades will help ensure that we can deliver the best product possible for 2011 and beyond. We will notify all customers via a message displayed on your league home page when this down-time is scheduled.

In addition, we added several new features in the middle of last season that you might not be aware of, including:

  1. Automatically Seed Playoff Teams - The system can now automatically seed your teams for your fantasy playoffs via the new Automatically Seed Playoff Teams page.
  2. All My Leagues Home Page Module - If you're in several leagues on MyFantasyLeague.com, and you'd like to make it easier to switch between your leagues, there is a new home page module available on the "Home Page Modules and Tabs Setup" page called "All My Leagues" which lists all of the leagues you're currently logged into on your league home page.
  3. Text Message to Entire League - The Communications > Text Message To Entire League option allows you to send a text message to everyone in your league that has a cell phone number registered with the site.
  4. Re-Order Players On My Watch List - The For Owners > My Watch List page now allows you to re-order the players on your watch list.

For more frequent updates on site news and other related topics, be sure to "Like" us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/MyFantasyLeague and follow us on Twitter at https://twitter.com/#!/MyFantasyLeague.

Finally, don't forget that the NFL schedule displayed on your 2011 MyFantasyLeague.com league is a dummy/made up schedule. When the official NFL schedule gets released (which should be mid-April), your 2011 league will be updated to reflect this change.

As always, please let us know if you have any comments, questions or suggestions for the site!

Sincerely,
The MyFantasyLeague.com Team
