| 1. | I've made changes to my scoring rules after the weeks final results have run, but they are not appearing updated for the players weekly scores. How do I update them for this week? Answer: You will need to go to your Home Page and choose one of the options that appears in your Home Page Message:
- 1. Only apply these scoring changes to future weeks.
- 2. Apply these scoring changes to week X results, as well as all future weeks.
- 3. Apply these scoring changes to all weeks, from week 1 through X results, as well as all future weeks.

| 2. | My player scores are being doubled (or way too high) - why? Answer: Player point totals are doubled (or worse) when league scoring rules are set up incorrectly on the Scoring Rules page. The most common places where this happens include:
1. By having a rule listed under the same position twice. For example, if you have the category "Rules for QB, RB, WR, TE" and award points for rushing yards in that category, and you also have a category "Rules for RB" and award points for rushing yards in that category, the system will use both sets of rules to award points. Make sure that each rule you want to award points for is defined only in one category to avoid this problem.
2. By having an overlap in a given rule. For example, if you have one rule called "Rushing Yards 75-100 2 points", and another rule called "Rushing Yards 100-200 5 points", and the rusher happened to rush for exactly 100 yards, due to the range of the rules both rules would apply. The best way to catch, and fix, problems along these lines is to click on the "Test" link for the corresponding rule on your Scoring Rules page, and reviewing all point totals on that page. When the system detects an overlap like this, it will display a warning to you.
3. Using the "Length of Rushing (or, passing, or receiving, or field goal, etc.) TD" rule, when you meant to use the "Number of Rushing (or passing or receiving, or field goals) TDs" rule. The "Length of..." rules are meant for leagues who award varying points based on the length of the touchdown (or field goal) scored, and this rule gets evaluated for every touchdown (or field goal) awarded. A common mistake customers make is setting up a rule like this: "Length of Field Goal Made 1-99 3 points each" which would award 3 points for each yard of a field goal made - so a 30 yard field goal would be worth 90 points. When in fact, if they want to award 3 points for each made field goal, the correct rule is "Number of Field Goals Made 1-99 3 points each".

| 3. | How do I Test my Scoring Rules for Accuracy? Answer: Once your scoring rules have been defined or updated, the system will recognize this. Several times a day it will automatically generate points for the past two seasons using these new/updated scoring rules. If you go to the Top Performers/Player Stats report immediately after a change has been made, you'll notice the message stating this at the top of the page. Within a few hours, this message will disappear and your updated fantasy numbers will have been computed. Simply select a player and a specific week to see how his stats generated fantasy points in your league. Repeat this with a variety of players at different positions to ultimately verify every rule is being scored correctly. Also, you may go to your Reports > Rules > League Scoring report, and click on the "Test" link in the last column on that report for each rule to see exactly how the system will award points for each rule in your league scoring system.

| 5. | Why is my Scoring not Calculating the Decimal Places Correctly? Answer: Typically there are two common causes for this:
1. You do not have the number of decimal places defined in General Scoring Setup screen. Chang the default "0" to a value between 1-3.
2. Your rules are not defined to support decimal scoring. "1 point for every 10 yards" is a stepped bonus, and incorrect for decimal scoring. Instead, yardage rules need to be defined along the lines of "0.1 points per yard".

| 6. | Why didn't my Passing Completion Percentage or Average Yards score correctly? Answer: Pass Completions and Average Yards need to be defined with decimal places, otherwise there are "holes" between the rules that will prevent them from calculating. Ranges need to be defined as 0.00-9.99, 10.00-19.99, 20.00-29.99, etc. These can be set up in the Setup > Custom Scoring Setup.

| 7. | My Scoring Results Appear Incorrect. What Could be the Problem? Answer: There are several things that could lead to an incorrect score for a player. The single most common is that your scoring system is set up incorrectly. To that end, the first thing that you should do is double-check your League Scoring Rules report to ensure that is set up correctly by clicking on the Test link for each rule category. If that looks correct, and you'd like some additional help in tracking down the source of this problem, please send us the following information via our online support form:
1. The franchise that the player is on
2. The name of the player/team in question.
3. The week of the NFL season in question.
4. Next, go into the "detailed scoring" or "live scoring" report to see exactly why we are reporting the points for the player.
5. Based on that information, tell us exactly what points you think the player should have been awarded for each event.
If the problem is a discrepancy in raw statistics (i.e., 59 yards rushing versus 60 yards rushing), please double-check the NFL.com Gamebook for the game in question. NO OTHER PAGE ON NFL.COM NOR ANY OTHER SITE SHOULD EVER BE USED TO VERIFY STATS! While even the Gamebooks occasionally has errors, all other NFL.com pages and all other big-name sports sites frequently have errors. If you provide us with all of the above information, we should quickly and easily be able to address the problem for you.
NOTE: You should never use the score adjuster to account for things like incorrect statistics, or incorrectly set up scoring systems - this only masks problems, and does not fix them.

| 8. | How do I Add Bonuses to Scoring? Answer: When you enter ranges you will only score points in those ranges. These rules can be defined in the Setup > Custom Scoring System Setup.
Example 1:
- If your current bonus category is:
- A one time bonus of 100 or more Yards gets 5 points for passing
- You will then define your Scoring rules as follows:
- From 100 to 999 gets 5 points
Example 2:
- If your current bonus categories are:
- 100 yards gets a bonus of 5 pts; 200 yards gets an additional 5 points, 300 yards gets an additional 5 points (and so on)
- 300 yards gets a bonus of 5 pts; 400 yards gets an additional 5 points, 500 yards gets an additional 5 points (and so on)
- You will then define your Scoring rules as follows:
- From 100 to 999 gets 5 points for every 100 yards
- From 300 to 999 gets 5 points for reaching range low and 5 points for every 100 yards thereafter (check the box for formula scoring)
Example 3:
- If your current bonus categories are:
- From 0 to 99 players get 1 pt for every 10 yards
- From 100 to 199 players get 2 pts for every 10 yards
- From 200 to 999 players get 3 pts for every 10 yards
- You will then define your Scoring rules as follows:
- From 0 to 99 players get 1 pt for every 10 yards
- From 100 to 199 players get 10 pts for reaching range low and 2 pts for every 10 yards thereafter (check the box for formula scoring)
- From 200 to 999 players get 30 pts for reaching range low and 3 pts for every 10 yards thereafter (check the box for formula scoring)
Example 4:
- If your current bonus categories are:
- All Field Goals are worth 3 points, but those FG's over 30 yards get an additional 0.1 pt for every yard
- You will then define your Scoring rules as follows:
- Length of Field Goals Made from 0 to 29 gets 3 points
- Length of Field Goals Made from 30 to 99 gets 3 points for reaching range low and 0.1 point for every yard thereafter (check the box for formula scoring)
By defining the above bonuses it will account for all previous points. Note you must check the box for Formula Scoring.

| 9. | How do I Define my Points Against for the Defense? Answer: In the For Commissioner > Setup > Custom Scoring System Setup you have three options:
- Total Points Allowed This is the total points scored against a team in a game. (This matches the scoreboard points at the end of a game).
- Special Teams Points Against This is the points scored against a team on Special Teams, which only includes points scored on Punt Returns and Kickoff Returns. It also includes any conversion points scored after the TD (extra point or a 2 Pt Conversion)
- Offensive Points Against This is the points scored against a team on Offense, which only includes points scored via Passing and Rushing TDs as well as Field Goals.
You can then individually use the Total Points Against or the Offensive Points Against categories or can combine "Offensive Points Against" + "Special Teams Points Against" scoring categories. You can hold the CTRL key down when highlighting both of these rules in the "Available Rules Column" and then click the "Add to Rules" to combine them to count as one rule.

| 10. | My scoring bonuses aren't counting the previous points. I have a 10 point bonus for yards 100-199 and then another 15 point bonus for 200-299 yards. How do I get 250 yards to be 25 points? Answer: When you enter ranges you will only score points in those ranges.
If your current bonus categories are:
100-199 yards gets a bonus of 10 pts
200-999 yards gets a bonus of 15 pts
For 250 yards you would only get your 15 points bonus (because your yardage does not fall into the 100-199 yard range).
You can either change your 100-199 range to be 100-999 "or" you can change your 200-999 range to be worth 25 points.

| 13. | We want our yardage for all running backs to be combined together and scored. How do you set it up to add these players together? Answer: Unfortunately, the site does not support adding stats from various positions. Rules must be defined for each position individually and (excluding team positions) the awards are based on individual stats. Any combination of stats would have to be tracked manually using the Franchise Score Adjuster.

| 16. | How do I Define Decimals for my Scoring System? Answer: There are two settings that need to be defined in order to allow decimal scoring in your league rules:
1. You do not have the number of decimal places defined in For Commissioner > Setup > General Scoring Setup screen.

| 17. | How do I use the Select A Packaged Scoring System page? Answer: Use this screen to choose from a number of predefined (canned) scoring systems as well as to copy scoring rules from another league (current or past year). For many leagues this can also act as an excellent starting point. Once chosen, the commissioner can use the Custom Scoring System Setup
screen to make changes as necessary.
Upon completion of defining your scoring rules, please verify them using:
1. The League Scoring
report, and
2. The Top Performers/Player Stats
report (click on the weekly score for several players at a variety of positions).
When finished, you MUST click on the Select Packaged Scoring System button in order to define your updated, prepackaged scoring system.

| 18. | How do I use the Custom Scoring System Setup page? Answer: When setting up your league's scoring system using the MyFantasyLeague.com online scoring setup utility, there are four steps that you will need to follow.
1.Select a position or positions with which to define your league rules. The online positions that will appear are those that have already been defined using the Starting Lineup Setup
screen.
Note that you can select any of the individual positions by using the individual position checkboxes that appear immediately in front of each position and then click on the Continue button. In order to define rules for the team positions, you must instead click on the corresponding link for the DT, ST, and/or OT.
2. Once you've selected one or more individual positions and clicked on the Continue button (or alternately selected one of the team position links), you need to select the rule categories for your chosen position.
- To add a rule Simply highlight it from the Available Scoring Rules (left-hand) pane and click on the "Add To List" button.
- To remove a rule Highlight it from the Currently Used Scoring Rules (right-hand) pane and click on the "Remove From List" button.
When finished, click on the "Continue" button.
For team (OT, ST, & DT) positions, the "Opponent" checkbox also appears. When checked any subsequently added rule will be defined as related to a team's opponent. For example, the "Opponents Punt Return Yardage" rule might be defined to a team's ST awarding points for low values and charging points for higher values.
NOTE: In order to combine rules already combined, use the CONTROL-Click method to select each of the rules to be combined before clicking on the Add To List> button. For example, while the Rushing + Receiving Yards rule can be selected as a single rule, the only way to combine Offensive Points Against with ST Points Against (for the Defense) is to click on the Offensive Points Against rule, press and hold down the Control key on the keyboard, and then click on the ST Points Allowed rule. Finally, click on the "Add to List" button. The resulting "Offensive Points Against plus ST Points Against rule should now appear.
3. Now that your league's rules are properly selected for each position you are ready to define each rule. Initially each rule will appear as a single row in the table with the Range and Points columns defined as 'No Range/Points Defined'. Click on the Edit link that corresponds to a given rule to edit that rule. Once a rule has been defined, click on the Test link for that rule to see how it will be scored.
4. The last and final step for each rule is to edit it's scoring definition. There are three ways to define each rule; as a simple bonus, on a per-occurrence basis, or as an incremental award for a numeric range.
When defining a bonus for a rule, you must use the PTS option from the drop-down menu. An example of this might be to award a 5 point bonus for a player who gains 100 yards rushing in a single game. To set this up, define as follows:
From 100 yards to 999 yards gets 5 pts yards
When defining a per-occurrence award, you must use the PTS EACH option from the drop-down menu. An example of this might be to award 6 points for a player who scores a rushing TD. To set this up, define as follows:
From 1 TDs to 99 TDs gets 6 pts each TDs

Step 4 of 4 - "Edit One Rule" (defining an incremental award for a range)
When defining an incremental award for a range you must use the PTS EVERY option from the drop-down menu. An example of this might be to award 1 point for every 10 yards rushing for a player. To set this up, define as follows:
From 1 yards to 999 yards gets 1 pts for every 10 yards

Once you've completed defining a rule, you MUST click on the Save Rule And Continue button to add it to your league. If you run out of ranges (ie, you need more than the five default rows that appear), click on the Save Rule And Add More Ranges button which will increase the rows in table for the given rule.
NOTE: Use the checkboxes for "Show Conditional Scoring Options" and "Show Formula Scoring Options" for advanced rule definitions. Checking the "Show Conditional Scoring Options" checkbox allows the commissioner to set up rules along the lines of "...only if the number of passing attempts is greater than 10". Checking the "Show Formula Scoring Options" checkbox allows the commissioner to set up rules along the lines of "10 points for 250 passing yards, and then 2 points for every 25 yards thereafter".
Decimal Scoring
The system supports decimal scoring to three decimal places (thousandths of a point). In order to use decimal scoring, two conditions must be met:
1. The General Scoring Setup screen parameter for decimal scoring must be changed from the default of "0" decimal places to "1" (tenths), "2" (hundredths), or "3" (thousandths) decimal places.
2. The individual scoring rules are properly defined for decimal scoring.
CORRECT: Rushing Yardage - From 1yard to 999 yards gets 0.1 point each
INCORRECT: Rushing Yardage - From 1yard to 999 yards gets 1 point for every 10 yard
In this final, incorrect example, a RB will only receive a whole point at each 10-yard increment. For example, a RB with 128 yards rushing will receive 12 points (and not 12.8 points as in the two above, correct examples).
Testing Your Rules
Like all scoring rules, you should always verify that the information you have defined is exactly as you expect it to be. Go to the Top Performers/Player Stats
report to complete this step. Note that immediately after you define your rules, this report will display the following message:
Warning! The results on this page are out of date with respect to your recently updated league scoring rules. These results will be updated to reflect the newest league scoring rules within the next three hours.
If you see this message (even if you see values for the players in the report), please check back in a few hours to verify your rules. Test the scoring by selecting a variety of players from all positions and selecting the point total link for any week for these players. The resulting Detailed Results screen will appear for the chosen player/week. Make sure that the fantasy points awarded for this player AND the reason why they have been awarded is in agreement with your league's rules.
For more information on setting up custom scoring rules, please see the Scoring Setup How To document.
