| 1. | How is the week 13 Meachem Fumble Recovery TD after an Interception in the Saints game being scored? Answer: At the end of the first half of the week 13 game between the Redskins and Saints, Kareem Moore of the Redskins intercepted a pass from Drew Brees of the Saints. During the interception return, Robert Meachem of the Saints stripped the ball from Moore, and ran it in for a TD.
As mentioned in our Strange Plays FAQ, we've always scored this type of play as a 43 yard "Offensive Fumble Recovery TD" for Robert Meachem (see the "Offensive Fumble Recovery TD Following A Turnover." section). If your league wants Meachem to receive the points for this touchdown, then you'll need to make sure the "Offensive Fumble Recovery TD" rule is defined in your scoring rules for the WR position.
If your league wants to score this play differently than how it shows up in the stats, then your commissioner would need to use the "For Commissioners > Adjust Scores and Standings > Player Score Adjuster" screen to add or subtract points to Meachem or the Saints Defense as needed.
Note: This play is NOT scored as a Defensive Fumble Recovery TD for the Saints Team Defense position, since their defensive unit was not on the field during that play.
One common "urban legend" we've heard about this play mentions "the NFL scores this as a defensive play". While that sounds like a convincing argument, unfortunately, it's not correct. The gamebook from the Saints/Redskins game most clearly indicates this, where, on page 5, it has a "Final Defensive Statistics" page. Note the statistics for Meacham's tackle, forced fumble, and fumble recovery are listed under the "Misc" heading, and not under the "Regular Defensive Plays" heading. So while the Saints, and Meacham, were in fact defending their goal at the time he stripped the ball away, the Saints offensive team unit, and not their defensive team unit, were on the field at the time of this play, and therefore, we feel that most leagues will not want to score this as a touchdown awarded to the Saints "Def" position. In short, the "Def" position is simply an invention made up by us fantasy footballers for the benefit of our hobby, and not anything that the NFL officially recognizes.
Note that for what it is worth, the last time this type of touchdown occurred was 6 years ago in 2003 when the Buccaneers threw an Interception, which was then fumbled and then Keenan McCardell recovered it and ran it in for a TD. So this type of play is very rare, but it was scored the same way the last time it happened.
For a more detailed discussion of special plays like this, please see our Statistics Lifecycle FAQ, specifically the "A Special Note About 'Miscellaneous' Plays" section, which goes into detail on this general topic, and the responsibility that you and your league-mates have in deciding how plays like this are scored before they actually come up in a game situation.

| 3. | How are Ties handled in the Playoffs? Answer: You will want to make sure that you have your tiebreaker criteria defined on the For Commissioner > Setup > General Scoring Setup so that either the commissioner manually breaks ties or tiebreaker players are submitted with the lineup to avoid tie games in the brackets.
For ties between teams when determining which team makes the playoffs and which teams do not, this is handled manually by the commissioner as he will seed all teams for the playoff brackets on the For Commissioner > Setup > Playoffs Setup > Seed Playoff Teams screen.

| 4. | How do I setup My Fantasy Playoffs? Answer: To set up your playoffs for your fantasy league you have several options:
If you use a Bracketed System for your playoffs you have two options.
- 1.The Setup > Select a Packaged Playoff Bracket to define your brackets.
- 2. The Setup > General Playoff Setup to define your brackets.
For full details see the Commissioner Tutorials > How do I set up my fantasy playoffs?
If your playoffs are based on the accumulated Total Points or played in an "All Play" format then you will not define brackets, but simply use the Weekly Summary to determine your winner.

| 6. | How do I add denotations (x-,y-,z-) for Playoffs on my Standings? Answer: The commissioners can add select commissioner Icons (x-,y-,z-) to the current Owner defined Icon by selecting the option on the For Commissioner > Setup > Icons Setup screen. Here the commissioner can choose the appropriate icon to be added and choose the option “Allow both an owner-defined icon as well as a commissioner-defined icon on the standings report?” to have these denotations appear next to the owners icons.
This function is useful for playoffs when denoting in the standings the usual x-, y-, z- for advancement to the playoffs.
- Typical Denotation in Standings for playoff status:
- x- : clinched playoff berth
- y- : clinched division title
- z- : clinched first round bye
Additionally you will need to make sure that your league displays the Icon in the Standings Report as defined on the For Commissioner > Setup > Standings Column Setup.

| 7. | I want my playoffs to start earlier, but there are still H2H games appearing on the schedule. How do I remove these? Answer: If you wish to remove the H2H matchups because you now wish to start your playoffs earlier you can do so by going to the For Commissioner > Setup > Weekly Schedule Setup.
Here you can choose the week that you wish to edit by clicking on the links at the top of the screen. Then you can use the drop down boxes to set each of the matchups to be bye vs bye and Save the new schedule.
Do this for each week that you wish to remove so that they do not conflict with the playoff brackets.

| 9. | When determining which teams advance in the playoffs, how does the H2H sorting criteria on the Standings work for leagues? Answer: The H2H Record sort criterion compares two individual teams at a time. In a four team league, A-D, there would be six H2H Record matchups: AB, AC, AD, BC, BD, and CD. Unfortunately this tie-breaker is less useful when there are three or more teams tied. If teams A, B, & C are all tied and during the season A beat B who beat C who beat A, then they all have a 1-0 record with 'the group', but certainly not with each other specific team. As the season progresses, this is a rather unlikely, but possible, occurrence.
To correct this sorting problem, a league can either move the H2H Record sort to a lower sort criteria (for leagues that have this defined as #2 through #4 - no league should ever use H2H Record as the #1 criteria) or you can use the Standings Adjuster to manually define a sort order for the current week. If you do manually change the sort order, be sure to remember to clear this out one the following weeks games have been calculated.

| 10. | An owner in my league had players in Thursday's game, but when he went to change his lineup before Sunday they were removed. How do I make sure that these Thursday players are locked into the games? Answer: If you have enabled one of the options to copy lineups on the Setup > Players And Rosters > Starting Lineup Setup, it is most likely the option: "As Soon As Final (Monday) Results Are Available". If this is the selection then lineups do not copy until after Monday Night's final results run.
Therefore, if an owner submits a lineup after Thursday kickoff (but no lineup prior to Thursday) then all players that played on Thursday are locked out of his lineup as they are locked at kickoff of their game. You will want to change your settings to "As Soon As The Previous Week's Final Results Are Available" to have these players locked into their games on Thursday at kickoff.
