First, review the questions below. And then if they don't help, you can submit a Support Ticket to us.Category: Lineup Setup| # | Question |
| 1. | How do I Run Contest League? Answer: A tournament/contest style league does not use rosters, waivers, nor trades. Instead, each team chooses a lineup each week that's independent of every other team (therefore all teams might start the same player in a given week).
Enable this via the For Commissioner > Setup > General League Setup by choosing "Rosters are not used: A player can only be on a franchise's starting lineup XX times per season." and specify a number between 1-21 for XX (depending on how many times you want each team to be able to start a given player during the course of the season).
Once defined, owners will simply use the For Owners > Submit Lineup screen to choose starters each week.

| 2. | How do I Set Lineups to Copy each week? Answer: In order to automate this go to the For Commissioner > Setup > Starting Lineup Setup screen.
Under the "Copy Previous Weeks Starters For Franchises Without Lineups" option choose one of the following:
- As The Previous Week's Final Results Are Available (this will copy over lineups on the Monday night of the previous week)
- As Soon As Preliminary (Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) Results Are Available (this will copy over lineups on the evening of the first game of the week)
- As Soon As Final (Monday) Results Are Available. (this will copy lineups on the Monday night of the end of the current week)
If you have any of these settings defined and it still did not copy over for the previous week, then check the Starting Lineups report to ensure that someone did not accidentally submit a blank lineup for the team. (Note that un-checking the boxes on the Submit Lineup Page and saving that information, essentially clears out the lineup).

| 3. | How do I Define when Lineups are Due? Answer: Lineups can be defined in the For Commissioner > Setup > Weekly Lineup Setup screen. Here you can choose when you wish your lineups to be due and define whether partial lineups are allowed for your league.
If you choose to have the "Gametime" lineup for your league, and you allow for a flex position in your league, you will also want to enable the option "No Partial Lineups Allowed".

| 4. | How do I Set the system to use the Best Lineups ? Answer: You can enable this setting in the For Commissioner > Setup > Starting Lineup Setup. Choose the option “Instead of submitting starting lineups, starting lineups are automatically determined by the system based on the best-scoring players on a franchise roster?”.
If this setting is enabled there will be no need for owners to submit weekly lineups as the Best Scoring Players will always fill the Lineup once games are complete.

| 5. | How do I set up a flexible IDP position? Answer: To set your league up to use flexible individual defensive players you will need to enable these on the For Commissioner > Setup > Starting Lineup Setup screen. Here you will define the minimum and maximum ranges for each position desired to be treated as a flex position
Example: A league requires 1 IDP player to be started at any available IDP position. This would be defined as follows:
(DT+DE): min=0, max= 1
(LB): min = 0, max = 1
(CB+S): min= 0, max = 1
Then be sure to properly set your Total Starters to include this flex position by setting the Minimum Starters to Equal the Maximum Starters.
Finally, enter the value of “1” where it states “Optionally, You May Enter A Total Number of Starting Individual Defensive Players:”

| 6. | How do I set up a flex position? Answer: On the For Commissioner > Setup > Starting Lineup Setup screen define the ranges for each position desired to be treated as a flex position such that the maximum value is greater than the minimum value. Note you cannot choose both an individual and combined position at the same time.
Example: A league requires at least minimum of each of the following starters (2 RBs, 2 WRs, and 1 TE) and then one additional flex starter at RB,WR, or TE. This would be entered as follows:
RB: min=2, max= 3
WR: min = 2, max = 3
TE: min= 1, max = 2
Then be sure to properly set your Total Starters to include this flex position by setting the Minimum Starters to Equal the Maximum Starters.

| 7. | How do I set my league up to use a tiebreaker player to break ties? Answer: In the For Commissioner > Setup > General Scoring Setup you can define your tiebreaker criteria.
Ties can be broken based on the following player options:
- Number of players required to break ties
- Non-starter or just Roster
- Player be a certain position.
Alternately, you can choose the option:
Broken by the sum total of all non-starter player scores
to have your entire bench break your tie.

| 8. | How do I set lineups so only early players have to be submitted early? Answer: Go to the For Commissioner > Setup > Weekly Lineup Setup screen, and choose the lineup deadline "Players in Early Games are Locked at Kickoff for First Game of the Week, Other Players Are Locked Sunday at 1pm EST." You must also verify that one of the options for allowing partial lineups is chosen.

| 9. | How do I Combine positions (Def + ST or TE as WR)? Answer: Combining positions can be done in the For Commissioner > Setup > Starting Lineup Setup screen.
Defense and Special Teams: Simply check the box to use the "Def" position and do not check the option to use the ST position. Then define the scoring rules under the "Rules for Def" category you will need to include both defensive rules and special teams rules (such as Punt and Kick returns).
WR and TE: Choose the combined WR+TE for your starting lineup requirement. You will then need to define the same rules for both the WR and TE.

| 10. | Our league uses all Team Positions for our rosters. Is this supported? Answer: Our site does support Team QB, Team TE's, Team PK's, and Team PN's on Offense, as well as Team Defenses, Team DB, Team DL and Team LB. These can all be selected in the Setup > Starting Lineup Setup screen. You would still need to manually draft and start all individual RB's and WR's - and their stats cannot be combined. Each RB/WR would be scored individually.

| 11. | How do I use the Weekly Lineup Setup page? Answer: Use this setup screen to define parameters for your starting lineups. Note that these items will only appear if they have been enabled on the General League Setup
screen.
Lineup Submission Deadline -
| • | KICKOFF: Kickoff Time for First Game of the Week. All players must be started/benched by the kickoff of the first game of each week. |
| • | EARLY: Players In Early Games Are Locked At Kickoff Of Their Game, Other Players Are Locked Sunday at 1PM EST. This setting requires all players in early (Thursday, Friday, & Saturday) games to be started/benched at the kickoff of their individual game. |
| • | GAMETIME: Players Are Locked At Kickoff Of Their Game. Each player can be started/benched just prior to the start of his NFL game. |
| • | CALENDAR: Define one or more Specific Date(s)/Time(s). Specify exactly when all players must be started/benched each week for Sunday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday games. Selection of this option will add five (5) event types to the 'Event Type/Title' element on the League Calendar Setup
screen: |
| • | lineup deadline for all games |
| • | lineup deadline for Thursday games |
| • | lineup deadline for Friday games |
| • | lineup deadline for Saturday games |
| • | lineup deadline for Sunday games |
| • | lineup deadline for Monday games |
NOTES:
1. Each deadline can be set to terminate on the quarter hour.
2. Deadlines are defined in the league's local time zone.
3. Multiple deadlines are supported (i.e., for each day's games)
4. Deadlines can be the same or different from week to week.
5. All deadlines will appear on the Monthly League Calendar
report.
Are Partial Lineups Allowed? -
Under certain circumstances, the site allows an owner to submit what it considers to be a "partial lineup". The site considers a "partial lineup" one that has none of the individual position maximums (or overall number of starters) as set on the "Starting Lineups Setup" page exceeded. There are three options for this setting:
1. Use the system rules for deciding if partial lineups are allowed or not.
The system-default rules for deciding if partial lineups are allowed or not are:
a) if the deadline is KICKOFF or CALENDAR (using "Lineup Deadline for All Games"), a partial lineup is invalid.
b) if the deadline is GAMETIME, a partial lineup is valid.
c) if the deadline is EARLY and the first game of the week is on a Sunday, a partial lineup is invalid.
d) if the deadline is EARLY, the first game of the week is not on Sunday (i.e., it's on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday) and it's currently before kickoff of the first game of the week, a partial lineup is valid.
e) if the deadline is EARLY, the first game of the week is not on Sunday (i.e., it's on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday) and it's currently after kickoff of the first game of the week, a partial lineup is invalid.
2. Yes, partial lineups are always allowed.
Select this option if owners may submit a partial lineup at any time.
3. No, partial lineups are never allowed.
Select this option if owners must submit a complete lineup each time that they submit their lineup.
NOTE: If you have the option for GAMETIME or EARLY selected, and allow lineups to be copied on the Starting Lineup Setup screen, then you will want to make sure it is set to "Copy Lineup As Soon As Previous Weeks Final Results are Available" to avoid owners from "gaming" the system.

| 12. | How do I use the Formations Setup page? Answer: Some leagues prefer to use NFL pro team offensive formations to determine their fantasy lineup requirements. Instead of specifying the (more common) RB, WR, and TE starters, formations-based lineups are a bit more restrictive. You can choose any/all of the following four formations for your league:
Full T
|
RB: 3
WR: 1
TE: 1
|
Pro Set
|
RB: 2
WR: 2
TE: 1
|
Single Back
|
RB: 1
WR: 3
TE: 1
|
Run & Shoot
|
RB: 1
WR: 4
|
Double Tight
|
RB: 2
WR: 1
TE: 2
|
Ace
|
RB: 1
WR: 2
TE: 2
|
Spread
|
RB: 2
WR: 3
|
Full House
|
RB: 3
TE: 2
|
NOTE: When formations are enabled, the Starting Lineup Setup
screen will no longer display those separate (RB, WR, TE) positions, but instead indicate that a total of 5 players must be started across all three of those positions, subject to the formations that your league allows. Other positions (QB, PK, Def, etc.) must still be set up on the Starting Lineup Setup
screen regardless of whether formations are used.
When finished, you MUST click on the Save Formations Setup button in order to apply your changes.

| 13. | How do I use the Starting Lineup Setup page? Answer: Use this screen to define which positions and how many of each position should be starters in your league.
Supported Positions
Head Coach (Coach)
|
This "position" is commonly used to award for a victory by the coaches team.
|
Quarterback (QB)
|
|
Team Quarterback (TMQB)
|
Team Quarterbacks are used be league in place of an individual. For example, a team might draft the Green Bay TMQB instead of Brett Favre. If Favre gets injured, his backup will still generate fantasy points for the team with the GB TMQB player.
|
Running Back (RB)
|
|
Fullback (FB)
|
The site defaults to listing all FBs as RBs. For leagues that prefer to break out the FB position, commissioners must also specify FB scoring rules and manually change individual RBs to FBs via the Change Player Position
screen.
|
Wide Receiver (WR)
|
|
Tight End (TE)
|
|
Team Tight End (TMTE)
|
Team Tight Ends are used be league in place of an individual. See TMQB above.
|
Combined Receiver (WR+TE)
|
Use this option if your league treats all TEs the same as WRs. NOTE: You will still need to define a copy of the WR scoring rules for the TE using the Custom Scoring System Setup
screen.
|
Combined Running Back & Receiver (RB+WR+TE)
|
Some leagues prefer a more flexible offensive lineup. If you prefer to start any combination of five RB, WR, and TEs, for example, use this option. This would allow one franchise to start 2RBs, 2WRs, and 1TE and another to start 3RBs, 2WRs, and 0TEs.
|
Kick Returner (KR)
|
This position is used only for kicking and punting return stats. As many KRs are also WRs you should use the WR position (and define return rules to it) if you want to assign both KR and WR-based scoring rules to this position. For leagues that prefer to break out the KR position, commissioners must also specify KR scoring rules and manually change individual WRs/DBs/etc. to KRs via the Change Player Position
screen.
|
Place Kicker (PK)
|
|
Team Place Kicker (TMPK)
|
Team Place Kickers are used be league in place of n individual. See TMQB above.
|
Punter (PN)
|
|
Team Punter (TMPN)
|
Team Punters are used be league in place of an individual. See TMQB above.
|
Defensive Lineman (DT+DE)
|
Use this position if your league treats DTs and Des the same.
|
Defensive Tackle (DT)
|
|
Defensive End (DE)
|
|
Team Defensive Lineman (TMDL)
|
Team DLs are used to represent a pro team's entire defensive line's stats.
|
Defensive Linebacker (LB)
|
|
Team Defensive Linebacker (TMLB)
|
Team Lbs are used to represent a pro team's entire linebacker's stats.
|
Defensive Back (CB+S)
|
Use this position if your league treats CBs and Ss the same.
|
Defensive Cornerback (CB)
|
|
Defensive Safety (S)
|
|
Team Defensive Back (TMDB)
|
Team DBs are used to represent a pro team's entire defensive back's stats.
|
Defensive Team (Def)
|
Defensive Team positions can be used for leagues that incorporate ST rules into the DT position or do not use ST scoring altogether. Just include or exclude ST-type rules to the DT position when setting up your scoring.
|
Special Teams (ST)
|
Use this if your league defines a separate ST position that is not part of the DT. If you use a combined DT+ST, use the DT above.
|
Offensive Team (Off)
|
|
Total Starters - Define both the minimum and maximum number of starting fantasy players for each week's starting lineup. As this is commonly a single value, both fields may be the same.
Used - Checking this box corresponding any position will enable that position for your league. Uncheck the box to disable this position for your league.
NOTE: Only players with checked positions will appear in player lists in the system.
Minimum Starters - For each "Used" position (see above) enter a single value to represent the minimum number of players to be starter each week. If your league does not use Flex Lineups (see below), then typically the min. starters value equals the max. starters value.
Maximum Starters - For each "Used" position (see above) enter a single value to represent the maximum number of players to be starter each week.
Specific vs. Flex Lineups
While most leagues typically use a specific number of starters at each position, some leagues prefer to offer a range. For example, instead of the specific requirements to start 2 RBs, 2 WRs, and 1 TE, some leagues may add another player of any RB/WR/TE. While one owner could start 3 RBs, 2 WRs, and 1 TE, another might start 2 RBs, 3 WRs, and 1 TE, while yet another would start 2 RBs, 2 WRs, and 2 TEs. This is setup as follows:
RB: min=2, max=3
WR: min=2, max=3
TE: min=1, max=2
There's still no way to start more than the six players at these positions (this is constrained by the Total Starters option above) as well as at least 2 RBs, 2 WRs, and 1 TE. Another common example using individual defensive players (IDPs) is to start up to three at any of DL/LB/DB. Define these positions as follows:
DL: min=0, max=3
LB: ,min=0, max=3
DB: min=0, max=3
Here, one owner could start one player at each position while another could start three DBs.
Total Number of Starting Individual Defensive Players (IDPs) - If your league uses flex IDP and flex IOPs (offensive), you should enter in the total number of IDPs to start. When defined, this field will prevent leagues from stealing IDP lineup spots to add extra IOP players.
Copy Previous Week's Starters For Franchises Without Lineups -
As Soon As The Previous Week's Final Results Are Available: - When checked, this option will automatically carry everyone's lineup through to the following week as soon as the previous week's results are finalized (typically late Monday night).
As Soon As Preliminary (Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) Results Are Available: - Select this option to automatically have all lineups copy over when stats are processed for owners who did not submit lineups by the defined deadline. For example, in weeks that start with a Thursday game, the lineup will be copied over on Thursday night for owners that do not otherwise submit a lineup.
As Soon As Final (Monday) Results Are Available: - Select this option to automatically have all lineups resolved for owners who did not submit lineups for the week.
NOTE: You will want to choose the "As Soon As the Previous Week's Final Results are Available" for your copy options if you allow either Early or Gametime lineup submissions. This prevents owners from "gaming" the system by choosing to either submit or not submit a lineup based on players performances on Thursday Night.
Use Best Lineups - Enable this (default is off) to have the system automatically determine and use as starters the best lineup for each franchise roster after the games have been played. Once enabled, franchises will not be able to submit a lineup.
Hide Starting Lineups - Enable this (default is off) setting to prevent owners from viewing any franchise lineup until
- Kickoff of the first game of the week.
- Kickoff of the first Sunday game of the week.;
- Kickoff of the last game of the week.;
- Kickoff of each individual player's game.
NOTE: If this setting is enabled, the Live Scoring, Live Scoring Summary, Starting Lineups, and Weekly Results reports will NOT be accessible to owners until kickoff of the specified option.
Start Bye Week Players - Enable this (default is off) setting to automatically restrict owners from submitting players as starters when they are on bye.
Backup Players - Enable this (default is off/clear) by specifying the number of backup players to be included in each starting lineup. Currently, backup players are specified for informational purposes only. Any backup player rules supported by leagues must be manually enforced (typically by having the commissioner manually replace starters with backup players in new starting lineups).
NOTE: If enabled, backup players are still optional as owners can leave the default backup player setting blank on the submit lineups screen.
When finished, you MUST click on the Save Starting Lineup Setup button in order to apply your changes.
